Coaching Methodology

dip! coaching methodology includes visual, auditory and kinetic learning.

We adopt repetition and positive reinforcement for the students to maximise their learning curve while establishing the kinesthetic muscle memory necessary for them to gain comfort\confidence\proficiency as swimmers.

As is true with sports science, the body’s muscles understand the requirements for successful performance and as such becomes the body’s natural reaction to the applicable unforeseen conditions. Emphasising on experiential learning, innovative lessons to prepare participants on the after-shocks of event & emotional hijacks.

Learners shall progress from “learning” to “skill refinement” as the body increasingly adapt through increased strength and enhanced coordination. dip! coaches are trained to follow a set of disciplines designed to reinforce, through repetition, to attain specific physical criteria that must be performed successfully within each Thematic Movement.

We establish achievable milestones to provide a platform for enjoyable recreational swimming and successful water survival skills. Systematic assimilation of Thematic Movements will naturally provide comfort and confidence in water. This method of systematic and incremental assimilation of skills is practiced in nearly every academic\athletic discipline. Repeated skills practice is a method of mastery that is tried and true.

As a trainer/coach for almost 2 decades, the challenges continually faced are with balancing what is best for the education and what is the expectations of our clients. As we focus on realism learning, progressively, we “increase” the expectations with regard to autonomy (distance) and proficiency (technique while traversing the distance).

1. Explanation and the realisation of combination of Thematic Movements

2. Demonstration of proficiency for assessment

3. Practice with positive reinforcements

4. Challenge with appropriate milestones achievements

5. Critique & Correct with immediate feedback before moving on to avoid snowball of undesired techniques
